A Simple, Stress-Free System for Creating Content Without Overwhelm
A Simple, Stress-Free System for Creating Content Without Overwhelm
If content creation feels like an exhausting, never-ending task that you can never quite get ahead of—you're not alone. I hear it all the time from heart-centered coaches and healers:
π “I don’t know what to post.”
π “I start creating, but it takes SO long.”
π “I get inspired, but then I forget my ideas.”
π “I sit down to make content, and my brain just… stops working.”
The problem? Most people try to do everything in one sitting—coming up with ideas, writing, filming, editing, and posting—all at once. That’s a recipe for burnout.
The solution? Breaking content creation down into small, easy-to-follow steps that work with your energy, not against it.
I’m going to walk you through my 10-step content creation system—one that I’ve refined over time to make showing up online so much easier. This isn’t about rigid rules. It’s about finding a flow that works for you.
Step 1: Capture Your Ideas (Before They Disappear!)
Inspiration doesn’t show up on a schedule. You can’t just sit down and force yourself to be creative. That’s why having a system to capture ideas as they come is so important.
Ways to Capture Content Ideas:
β
Use the Notes app on your phone (I keep a dedicated note for ideas)
β
DM yourself on Instagram when you see a reel or post you love
β
Save reels and posts into Instagram Collections
β
Record voice notes if writing feels slow
β
Keep a small notebook for brainstorming
Make it as easy as possible to jot things down the moment inspiration strikes.
ACTION STEP: Decide where you'll capture ideas. Is it a notebook? A phone app? Instagram saves? Pick one and commit to using it daily.
Step 2: Organize Your Ideas
Once a week (or every couple of weeks), go through your saved ideas and sort them into categories so they don’t get lost in a random jumble.
Here’s how I do it:
π Google Drive Folders – I store written content, captions, and ideas.
π Canva Folders – I organize graphics and templates.
π Phone Albums – I keep a folder for B-roll footage (clips I reuse).
π Content Calendar Spreadsheet – I sort ideas into my content pillars.
This way, when it’s time to create, I’m not starting from scratch—I already have a bank of ready-to-go ideas.
ACTION STEP: Set a time each week (or month) to organize your content ideas.
Step 3: Create a Simple Content Strategy
Your content strategy is like a blueprint—it helps you stay consistent without overthinking.
Start by defining your content pillars—the 4-6 main topics you regularly post about. For example:
β¨ Visibility & Authenticity
β¨ Somatic Work
β¨ Heart-Centered Business Tips
β¨ Tech & CEO Systems
β¨ Balancing Business & Motherhood
When you organize your content ideas, assign each one to a pillar so you have a variety of topics in rotation.
ACTION STEP: Write down your main content pillars. If you don’t have them yet, brainstorm 4-6 key themes you talk about in your business.
Step 4: Plan Your Content in Advance
I highly recommend scheduling a content planning day every month (or every week if that feels better).
This is when you look at your organized ideas and assign them to specific days. Even if you don’t batch-create everything at once, just knowing what you’ll post ahead of time removes so much stress.
ACTION STEP: Open your calendar and schedule your next content planning session.
Step 5: Record & Write Without Editing
When it’s time to create, don’t get stuck in perfectionism. Just get the words or video out without worrying about making it perfect.
π₯ If you’re recording a video: Film it in one take and move on. You can edit later.
π If you’re writing a post: Write the raw version first—don’t fuss over formatting, emojis, or hashtags yet.
ACTION STEP: Next time you create content, separate writing/recording from editing so you don’t waste time going back and forth.
Step 6: Edit & Polish Later
Editing is a separate task from creating. Whether it’s tweaking a caption, formatting a carousel, or adding text to a reel—set aside time to refine your content after you’ve created it.
Editing in a different session helps avoid overthinking and speeds up the process.
Step 7: Schedule & Post with Ease
To avoid last-minute scrambling, make posting as effortless as possible. You can:
π Save reels and captions in Instagram drafts
π Use the built-in scheduling tool on Instagram & Facebook
π Set an alarm to manually post (if scheduling doesn’t work for you)
Do whatever feels easiest for you. The goal is to reduce friction and make posting seamless.
Step 8: Repurpose Your Content
Instead, reuse and repurpose what you already have:
π Turn a long caption into a Canva carousel
π Use a written post as a script for a talking video
π Take a high-performing reel and repost it months later
π Compile multiple posts into a newsletter
Your audience needs to hear the same message multiple times. Don’t be afraid to repeat yourself!
ACTION STEP: Look at your past content and find one piece to repurpose this week.
Step 9: Adapt to Your Energy
Creativity isn’t linear. Some days you’ll feel like brainstorming; other days, you’ll want to record or edit. Give yourself permission to adjust based on your energy instead of forcing yourself into a rigid schedule.
π
Planned to edit but feeling inspired? Create instead.
π₯ Planned to record but feeling low-energy? Do light organizing.
The key is staying flexible while keeping momentum.
Step 10: Evaluate & Refine
After about a month of using your new system, take a step back and assess:
π What content performed well?
π‘ What did you enjoy creating the most?
β³ What felt overwhelming or time-consuming?
Refine your system based on what works best for you.
